A farming family that became a global one
Arjan Singh Sandhu owned land and lent money in Phagwara, Punjab, in the late 1800s. His son Chanda Singh Sandhu farmed the same ground and, with his wife Nami Kaur, raised eight children — the eight branches that carry the family forward today.
Gurdial, Lachman & Jeeto
Gurdial's line spread to Vancouver and Toronto; Lachman's settled in Hounslow, where he taught and worked the post office; Jeeto married into the Bhaurla family and put down roots in Fresno, California.
Seesow, Sarwan & Nirmal
Seesow's descendants are remembered as "the Moli branch." Sarwan farmed, then worked in a factory, in Slough — the town many of his grandchildren still call home. Nirmal's family also stayed close to Phagwara roots.
Bant & Preeto
Bant Kaur married into the Benning family and raised nine children in Gravesend — the largest branch of the tree by far. Preeto's branch is the least documented, with several names lost to time.
